DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF INFERTILITY

At our clinic, we provide a range of infertility treatments, from the most basic, such as ovulation induction and insemination, to more advanced procedures, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF). We have extensive experience and tailor our treatment strategies to the individual needs and goals of each of our patients.

Causes of infertility

Infertility is the inability to get pregnant after one year of regular, unprotected intercourse. There are many causes of infertility, including some that can be treated with medical intervention. Male infertility accounts for 20-30% of infertility cases, while 20-35% are due to female infertility, and 25-40% are due to a combination of both. The most common cause of female infertility is ovulation problems, which generally manifest as infrequent or no periods. The most common cause of infertility in the Western population today is the woman's age, as egg quality declines dramatically with age, especially after the age of 35. Male infertility is usually due to sperm quality

What does fertility testing include?

  • Investigation of the male factor through spermogram and more specialized tests
  • Examination of the woman with gynecological examination, colposcopy and transvaginal ultrasound
  • Laboratory tests to check hormones related to the woman's cycle and a complete endocrinological checkup
  • Hysterosalpingography
  • Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy

Infertility Treatment: What to Expect

Fertility treatments vary based on the underlying causes of infertility. Fertility treatment options typically include oral (and in some cases, injectable) medication to increase the number of eggs released. This may be combined with trying to conceive naturally or with other treatment methods, such as intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization.

Depending on your condition, the potential risks faced, and other factors such as age and previous medical history, we will help you determine the best treatment plan for you.
