The transition from pediatric care to adult gynecological care <\/b><\/h2>\n

For most adult women, visiting a gynecologist for exams is simply a preventive measure, but in some cases - especially for teenagers - visiting a gynecologist can cause anxiety and uncomfortable feelings.<\/span><\/p>\n

We believe it is particularly important to create a comfortable and informative environment for young girls, helping them lay the foundation for effective, preventive care at every stage of their reproductive life. This allows the gynecologist to know an individual's long-term history and apply this knowledge to current and changing needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Establishing such continuity of care is a core value of our practice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Talking about anxiety \u2013 The first visit<\/b><\/h3>\n

For many young patients, there is fear or anxiety in dealing with gynecological problems. At our gynecological clinic, the doctor and parents work together to make young girls feel comfortable during a visit. We respect medical confidentiality and approach each case with the appropriate sensitivity and discretion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each visit begins by talking and getting to know the patient beyond the medical history. Connecting with hobbies and interests usually helps alleviate any anxiety and can facilitate discussions about gynecological concerns. Establishing clear communication with the girl is essential before approaching the more \u201cawkward\u201d and \u201cdifficult\u201d stages of a gynecological exam.<\/span><\/p>\n

We make sure to communicate with patients and parents about every step of their physical examination and about everything important.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many of our teenage patients have health concerns that they find difficult to discuss with their parents or doctors. First of all, we assure our young patients that there is no such thing as a \u201cdumb\u201d question and that many of these \u201cannoying\u201d aspects of reproductive health are normal and common.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Adolescence is a time of transition and it is extremely important that teenage girls have the opportunity to discuss sensitive issues related to their health.<\/span><\/p>\n

Continuous care and monitoring of reproductive health\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

One advantage of continued care from the same gynecologist is that the doctor can maintain relationships into adolescence and adulthood. This continuity of care is especially important for patients with chronic conditions or complex gynecological histories because it helps avoid a gap in care.<\/span><\/p>\n
